The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is a world-leading, international research center dedicated to the discovery of new approaches for the prevention and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. To this end, researchers at ten DZNE sites throughout Germany pursue a translational and interdisciplinary strategy that encompasses five interlinked areas: Basic Research, Clinical Research, Health Services Research, Population Research and Systems Medicine.

The Rhineland Study is a large-scale, population-based, long-term study with up to 20 thousand participants from the Bonn area. The aim of this epidemiological study is to research prevention options and preclinical biomarkers of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases as well as to investigate normal and pathological brain structure and function in adults over the course of their lives. The two examination centers (Beuel and Duisdorf) are equipped with state-of-the-art technology for comprehensive health examinations. Within the area of Population Health Sciences in Bonn, we are offering a position for a Student assistant/ studentische Hilfskraft for 12-19 hours/week.

Your Tasks

You are actively involved in supporting the data preparation and data quality control of our ongoing research projects, this entails:

  • Quality control of data (data from questionnaires and cognitive testing)
  • Setting up R scripts for data preparation
  • Preparation of quality reports

Your Profile

  • Background in Computer Sciences, Data Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics or a similar field
  • Experience in data analysis with R and willingness to enhancen your R-skills
  • Experience with data management and Gitlab is definitely a plus
  • Highly motivated
  • Conscientious, reliable working style
  • German language skills are a plus
